Macdaleine St.Remy is a chemical engineer & hardware program manager - turned filmmaker whose work captures the experiences that affect us all through the nuanced, quotidian lives of her characters. Her stories are tales of the search for freedom from systems and structures that confine us.

In 2023, Macdaleine was honored with a Princess Grace Foundation Film Honorarium and was selected as a Gotham Marcie Bloom Fellow. Her NYU thesis short film, THE HARVEST, was the recipient of the Cary Fukunaga Production Fund. She was also a 2023 finalist for the NYU Sloan Feature Award. Her accolades include the 2022 Black Family Film Prize, the 2022 Sara Driver Production Award, and NYU’s 2020 Tisch Initiative for Creative Research HEAR US grant.

Currently completing her MFA in Film at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Macdaleine holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from MIT and a Master of Science in Energy and Processes from ÉNSPM in France. Before transitioning to filmmaking, she worked in hardware engineering at Apple and Square from 2013 to 2020. Her technical background informs the scientific themes that intersect her characters' lives.
